My name is Travis Hanna. I am a web developer and musician living in Columbus, OH.
I saw the web for the first time in 1994. I actually remember the first site I visited. It was the Internet Underground Music Archive (iuma.com). At the time, I don't believe full songs could be downloaded, just short samples in Sun's audio format (.au). 14.4k modems were new and expensive, the MP3 format didn't exist and web pages took bloody forever to load. By today's standards it was an awful user experience but there was clearly enormous potential there.
I don't remember when exactly I created my first web site but I believe it was late 1995. For the next several years I ran various small websites as a hobby and moonlighted occasionally for small companies or web design firms. By 1997, I was working as a programmer writing windows client-server applications but it wasn't until 2001 that I accepted my first full-time web development position as a programmer for www.VictoriasSecret.com.
I put a few years in at "Vicky's" followed by a couple of years of consulting. Currently I am a web developer for Revolutions-inc, a company specializing in selling durable medical goods online.
